Delete your account
You can request permanent deletion of your Vantage Point account and the data tied to it at any time. Account deletion is free and does not require an active subscription.
Or email support@vantage-point.online directly with the subject line "Delete account" from the email address tied to your account. We'll confirm receipt within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Within 30 days of a confirmed request, we permanently remove:
- Account record — email, display name, scout code, sign-in history.
- Library data — every entry across Front Line, Sightlines, Watchlist, and Archive, including ratings, reviews, time-to-beat values, and slot history.
- Social graph — your scout connections, friend requests, and any incoming/outgoing pending requests.
- Profile content — bio, avatar, theme selection, gamerscore display preference, privacy toggles.
- Imported handles — cached Steam ID and Xbox gamertag references.
- Activity — Gauntlet challenge progress, completion records, in-app feedback you submitted.
- Crash reports tied to your account — diagnostic events sent to Sentry are scrubbed of your user identifier within 90 days.
What we retain, and why
A small set of records is retained for legal, financial, and anti-abuse reasons. None of this data identifies you to other Vantage Point users post-deletion.
- Purchase receipts — store transaction IDs (Apple App Store / Google Play / RevenueCat) are retained for up to seven years as required by tax and accounting law. These contain no library data, only the transaction record itself.
- Deletion request log — a record that a deletion request was made, the date it was completed, and which email it referenced. Retained indefinitely so we can respond to follow-up inquiries about the deletion itself.
- Aggregated, non-identifying analytics — counts like "number of accounts created in March 2026" never reference your account specifically and are retained.
Subscriptions and refunds
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Pro subscription, because subscriptions are managed by the platform store (Apple or Google), not by us.
- iOS: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Vantage Point → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play app → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Vantage Point → Cancel.
Cancel your subscription first, then submit the deletion request. Refund requests for recent purchases go through the originating store — see our Support page for the relevant links.
Timeline
- Within 48 hours: we acknowledge your request and verify it came from the account's registered email.
- Within 30 days: deletion is complete across our production database and backups are scheduled to overwrite the deleted records.
- Within 90 days: backup overwrites finish, and diagnostic events in Sentry are scrubbed of your user identifier.
